The Faulkner Family start Round 9 with a bang - cute kids, lightning strikes, fires, death, inheritance squabbles, love advice - they have the lot! But I'm just here to talk about the passing of my very first Generation One sim - Magdalena Faulkner. I was expecting it since the last round when I realised they weren't going to live much longer going by their life bar, but it still took me by surprise. I was watching the kids playing when I heard that music and then Grimmie just appears! I'm used to sims going in platinum with all the hula dancing, drinks, etc, which takes a bit longer and is more obvious - this just sort of happened! I'm lucky to get any pictures of it at all, and after failing to reset her life hourglass she just walks off! I totally missed the picture for it as I'm used to more of a fanfare. The next thing was waiting for Lukas to die, but what does he do? Has a mental breakdown (notice the lack of caring from the others? LoL). He was meant to go too, but for some reason now has an extra three days to live, so Lukas lives for another round! To be honest, I'm a bit peeved, Magdalena had spirit, damn you Grimmie! I would have preferred Lukas first (feel the love, Lukas). The thing that always strikes me as odd about the deaths is that it only tells you so much - for example, it says 11 people inherited money, but it only listed five with the amount. If you wish to see more details about Magdalena's death I have listed it all under her picture in the Family section. I don't know who the others are yet but after entering the Faulkner2 family lot discovered Fritz and Janina also inherited, not sure how much - and the cash funds are booming! Now I've babbled enough - look forward to Ludwig having his own place with Silke soon! It's a full 13 lot Round from here on out. ^__^
Fritz had a meltdown; it was inevitable, he got over it quick though I tell ya! I don't really have a lot to say for this family I just wanted to mention - omg Thorbin is a teen already?! LoL. I'm still sorting out the last of the teens from the previous generation and then there he goes, having a growth spurt at the end of the season. And the moment he aged I thought "Gee he looks familiar..." I'm thinking Armin - who you will see soon (still a teen too! haha) but when I look at the picture I think he's a cross between his two uncles - Armin and Kord - because he has that nose! YES! I have an obsession with the nose because it's so unique, I'm curious to see how many generations it will go through; It's so unusual compared to most that it'll probably take over several families (here's hoping!). What IS taking over is the black hair and black eyes. Ah genetics (could bore everyone to death babbling all day about it). Moving on... I'm not sure if any other kids will age into teens this round but poor Thorbin here has a long wait for any girls (most not even born yet!) speaking of girls - you can take a peek at the Faulkner2 Family Tree to see the cuteness that Janina was carrying around all season.
Oh, erm...the third Faulkner family...right! *cough* Yeah I had an extremely busy week and only noticed this morning I had not yet put this family up. It's okay though! You haven't missed anything really...first round and all that >_> They didn't do anything exciting. Why I put the pictures up at all is just to show how contradictory these two are! So amusing. Take the first few pictures - a pounce hello, and then...checking each other out (it's back to front right?! LoL) and then "Here, let me rub those sore shoulders for you dear..." followed by spousal abuse! (lies! all lies!) Nah, they're both game freaks so I often see them autonomously playing punch you/me, red hands, catch *cough* not sure that's allowed but oh well *cough* Silke is the patient one, she can stand around fishing for hours - autonomously too! But Ludwig gets bored after five minutes and prefers digging up holes - and yes, those are two different holes, one after the other, where he found the magic hot spring! (his kids are going to be millionaires, you can tell already). He was then so upset his first born son vomited on him he had to cry about it...oh ok I lie, he just grew up into adult and was distraught about missing out on "university" >_> why do they do that? I think if there is no university connected to their neighbourhood they shouldn't notice the difference! Guh. Neanderthals - so hard to please these days.
Yup, it's official - Armin is too adorable for words. Rain or sunstroke - he's always got this dazed expression on his face, and has a smile for every occasion. He's one of those sims that will entertain you most if you just let him go, everything fascinates him! Okay, praise time over. This round saw the goodbye of another original - Klaus Kohler - who decided to sneak out while everyone was having dinner; and in usual Klaus fashion he has to barter his way out of everything - but Grimmy is a professional and he couldn't be sold! (Plus he has vacation time coming up and I think Death is the last to be talked out of that!) Nobody on this lot really mourned Klaus's passing, Armin had to be told and even that only lasted a moment. There's a lesson to be learned here - don't grow up to be a cranky old man! I will give credit where it's due though - cranky old men make awesome ghosts! ^__^ And poor Hanna is the first, second, third...well you get the picture, but she's a tough bird that Hanna, she took it without batting an eyelash! In our last evening Lisbet reminds us of the tragic *cough* passing of her youngest, the twins Dierk and Dominik >_> who btw got a heap of insurance money sent their way... (that is one wealthy bear!) And the classic Armin pose in the last shot - yeah, nevermind you just had another boy. I love Armin.
Oh yeah, that was the first thing, literally less than thirty seconds after logging into the family - Gisa steals the show. Well, hopefully she's managed to wash the smell off by the time we see her next. I haven't really talked about this family yet, as they're new I kinda whiz through them, they don't do much - I blame Kord! He was great as a teen but now...well *pondering* I'd say he's amusing because he's SO slow, you know? S-L-O-W. I swear his brain is ten years behind his body, he's still living in la-la teen land. And Theda...well, she's stuck with Kord (whose fault is that?! *innocent look*) I was stoked to see a visit from Armin; maybe I should explain that? Sorry if I've done so already - I know there's not "supposed" to be any community lots, and it's not officially one, it's just a place I go to purchase clothes because it's easier for me than "cheating" them into the correct clothes - make sense? Okay never mind. So anyway, sometimes fun stuff happens at the lot and I usually don't show it, not wanting to ruin that whole "neanderthal feel" but come on - it was Armin! - who doesn't want to see a bit more of Armin? He's cute even when it's not his turn. As for the kids - looking forward to next round with Aleida, she just has that terrified look permanently stuck to her face and I'm uber curious about her personality, she's so tentative about everything so far. It's got to be obvious by now - Kohler family love! I love the Kohlers, I've had ups and downs with them but overall I love them all the best. Is that favouritism? *cough* who said that?! *cough* I can't help it. I wish they could be Emperor, but no! I'm sticking to my guns trying to be as "historically accurate" *cough* as possible...maybe...we'll see~ PS: No - Kord did not care a whit that his father had passed away, but in his defence nor did he care that he was many $$$ richer either! =P
All I can really say for this round is - Hagon still rocks. Ada is the bomb. And go Ulrich for entertaining me with your lunacy for twenty-four hours and beyond. LoL. I love Oskar. I am delighted to find he is so awesome, improving exponentially his personality in comparison to his father. He is both active and playful so he's like the energizer bunny right? He just doesn't stop. And he was the best toddler I've had so far - he will pester those adults to death into entertaining him - you go Oskar! Oh yeah he knows how to work me. LoL. And again with the whole weird dying early thing - three days before due she just ups and whoosh! Bye bye Oda~
I had a less than enthusiastic round with this family. It was just birthday after birthday and the kids so far are kind of...dull *gasp!* It's fascinating to me how much sims can change from each age - they can be one personality as kids, another as teens, and then completely another as adults. Henrik was in the background to me as a kid, then as a teen he had this strange seriousness about him, now he's pretty much...a wimp, in a cute way! And Elli is a sweetheart but I know from her teen years she will kick butt if Henrik puts a foot wrong - not that he ever would! I guess once it gets busy again it'll liven up.
Oh yeah, believe it - two deaths in one - no I did not cheat! LoL. I really don't know why Helga went on the second night instead of the third like all the others. Mind you the whole aging thing is screwed up for the elders and none have gone properly, they just go when they go! I think if they go in the "gold" they still get Hula dancers and all but no platinum grave; I wasn't paying that much attention to Erik to be honest (poor guy!) so suspect he was just in gold, he definitely wasn't platinum anyway. And oh-my-goodness! :-O Lord have mercy on these children's souls! *accent included* LoL Helga and Erik (bless their souls) should NOT have been allowed to breed! The genetics coming out of them @__@ it's not improving, it's worsening! Well, no offence to Saskia who I don't think personally is ugly, the Althausen's aren't exactly plastic dolls so...perhaps there needs to be a barbie doll Faulkner inserted in the mix? Or maybe...we'll just...put a sign up for the bears? *innocent* what? there's nothing wrong with that is there?! I like interesting faces - but the Lichtenbergs are SCARY, I tell you! Of course - I'm just panicking because they are WAY in the lead financially and do we want a scary Emperor?! Aren't royalty beautiful!? *face flop* LoL.
