Round Three
Faulkner
Kohler
Althausen
Lichtenberg
Braun
Babble Time
This round took SO long to get through; I started excitedly since Fritz Faulkner was already a child and he ended up turning into a teenager right at the end - oh the joys of teenagers. And he's pretty cute yeah? ^__^ All in the genes~ I'm guessing that's why I have so many pictures; I can't actually remember now as it was too long ago @__@ I do recall it being fun, watching Fritz and Aurel and looking after bub Liesa. There's not much to say as by this time you get the drift - if they're not fishing for food, they're gardening; if they're not gardening or fishing for food, it's because I've stuck them inside somewhere out of the sun because they keep heat stroking. I was sad to move on but the Kohlers too were fun, and I'm always amused by how the dark custom skin tones look like someone threw red paint on the sims rather than actually sunburned. But as I got to the Althausens it was starting to wear thin...~__~ Oh my goodness there is just so much you can do with so little. It took me several goes to get through the Althausens and the Lichtenbergs, and I only got through the Brauns in one go at the end because I was looking forward to starting Round 4 - all the teenagers are about to pop up - yay! Minus Fritz of course who is leap years ahead of everyone >_> can't remember how that turned out.
Before I finished the round I was already thinking ahead to how I am going to manage three generations; one generation takes six rounds to get through. I think I've said before - this really isn't a lighthearted challenge; I'm very eager to get to the next stage because there is a lot more things happening then, but I'll probably be eager to get to the stage after that after one generation, with this thinking in mind I wonder if it'd be best to just do ONE generation. Of course then how do you get the numbers up? I think the purpose of this stage is to build up the sims so that you can have all those different plebs and patricians and...etc in the Roman stage next, not to forget that in the Roman stage one sim a week will be randomly killed - yeah, I know, by then I'll have two zillion sims so it won't matter much, that's only six sims a generation. But there's also the walk-bys and other rules that can end up with a sim being killed. Ah, I think too much~ I'll just go with the flow and see what happens.
Some other random thing I noticed - I jot down family notes on a notebook beside me which also includes the date I start each round. Round 1: 15 June, Round 2: 14 August, Round 3: 16th August (yes, it IS possible to get through that quick when there's not much happening) Round 4: 15 September - are you seeing the pattern? ^__^ I will not be getting through Round 4 in two days, so I predict the earliest I'll start Round 5 will be sometime between the 14th and 17th of October. (j/k)
Until next time~
PS. Almost forgot - yes! The Gypsy lady showed up on the last day of play for the Braun family and I was so surprised. I thought she dropped that hunk of junk off to families doing well? Not that the Brauns are doing badly, but they're not platinum either! What a contrary woman she is. Tsk! If only she did that to my families that could use it, but NO, drop it off in Neanderthal land, aha *rolls eyes* LOL. I've just left it where she dropped it for now, meanwhile all the family members now want to make a wish *denied!*
